ABOUT
Practicing sport at grass root or competitive is a proven beneficial behavior at all ages. But for the youth category, which is less used with discipline and working around a set up of rules, the abuses that can occur in sport activities are maintaining inequalities and stereotypes towards certain topics. Especially when it comes to gender-related aspects, trainers and coaches need to supervise and to be equipped with skills in order to prevent discrimination and to assure gender equity.
Throughout the activities within the project we want to show teenagers that different types of sports should not be associated with gender. For example, rhythmic gymnastics, ballet or badminton are sports visually associated with girls, but there are many more sports visually associated with boys that girls might be reluctant to or not be encouraged to practice</span>
Developing a gender-neutral attitude towards practicing sport by teenagers, with a focus on mapping the perceptions of youth, coaches and trainers on gender equity and identifying the most important causes that are leading to gender inequity in practicing grassroots sports
Stimulate participation in sport for teenagers from participating countries based on a gender-equity behavior among youth, trainers and coaches involved in practicing grassroots sports.
Developing and strengthen the network of partners involved in this project on local, national and international level in sharing gender-equity experience and promote sport as a tool for social inclusion and fighting against discrimination
